This is a message from the Ventnor City Police Department Office of Emergency Management & Special Events:
This Sunday, May 15, the 1st annual Rock N Roll half marathon will take place on Atlantic Avenue and the boardwalk in Ventnor City. There will be over 10,000 race participants.
Road closures are in effect from 6:30am until 12 noon. NO bicycles are allowed on the boardwalk between 7am and 12 noon and all beach blocks will have no access during the event.
It is highly recommended to minimize travel during this event since all directions of travel will be blocked off and/or detoured in Atlantic City and Ventnor. You will be able to leave the island via Margate or Longport.
There will be no parking on the ocean side of Atlantic Avenue from Jackson to Fredericksburg. Any cars parked will be ticketed and towed.
All residents on the beach blocks from Jackson to Fredericksburg are asked to move their vehicles to the bay side of Atlantic Avenue if you need to access your vehicle during the event.
Please Visit https://www.runrocknroll.com/ac-road-closures for more information.
Again, we are advising that if you do not need to travel during the race time, please stay home to avoid traffic delays and/or detours.
Thank you and have a safe day.
